A Beautiful Human Story

Greta Gerwig's first film since the record-breaking Barbie is a radical departure - an intimate, character-driven drama set against the stunning landscapes of Morocco. Midnight Express to Marrakech is a beautifully crafted exploration of human connection in an increasingly disconnected world.

Margot Robbie, Pedro Pascal, and Riz Ahmed deliver layered performances as three strangers whose lives intersect on a train journey. The screenplay, co-written by Gerwig and Noah Baumbach, captures the way meaningful conversations between strangers can shift your perspective on life in ways that years of routine cannot.

Cinematography

The Moroccan landscapes are captured with painterly beauty, and Gerwig uses the physical journey as a metaphor for the emotional journeys of her characters. The train becomes a liminal space where social barriers dissolve and genuine human connection becomes possible.
