Heat oil in a large pan and sear the marinated chicken until browned on all sides. Remove and set aside.

In the same pan, add butter and sauté onions until golden brown, about 8-10 minutes.

Add remaining ginger-garlic paste and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.

Add crushed tomatoes and remaining spices. Simmer for 15 minutes until thick.

Pour in heavy cream and stir well. Add the cooked chicken and simmer for another 10 minutes.

Tips & Notes

For the best flavor, marinate the chicken overnight. Use Kashmiri chili powder for color without excessive heat. The sauce can be made a day ahead and reheated.
